LAD #35 Executive Order 9066
This was issued by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt on February 19th 1942. This was amongst all of the emotions that the United States people had about Pearl Harbor, it was supposed to remove Japanese Americans and place them in what was really like concentration camps. Some Germans and Italians were also placed in them as well, but not as many. The people of the United States were afraid and that was what he acted on instead of the right decision, he obviously thought it was the right decision at the time.
LAD #34 FDR's Declaration of War
"a date which will live in infamy" -FDR
After December 7th 1942, FDR addressed congress and asked for a declaration of war against the Axis. The country was scared, nothing like this had happened before so people did not know what to expect. FDR knew that joining the war as a unified nation would make the United States stronger. He also probably knew that it would help them to get out of the poor economic state that they were in. He said that the United States did not provoke Japan into this attack, but we must succeed in shutting them down and protecting ourselves, as well as other countries.

LAD #33 FDR First Inaugural Address
One of the most famous quotes from the 20th century is "there is nothing to fear but fear itself" which was from President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. It is from his first inaugural speech to the people of the United States. At the time the country was in distress, unemployment was at an all time high. In his speech he made many references to the bible, but his main intent was to ask people to stop being obsessed with money. He said that he would create jobs for the people of the United States, this was true he did in fact create jobs for Americans. He gave Americans a new sense of hope which was what the country needed and he did it through his New Deal.
LAD #32 Kellog Briand Pact
This pact was named after who wrote it, an American Secretary of State Frank Kellogg and French minister Alistide Briand. It was a pact between Germany, the United States, Britain and France to help them come up with a more peaceful way to resolve conflict other than war. It said that if anyone didn't follow the pact then the said country wouldn't be able to participate. Many other countries soon signed it, but the United States, France and Germany signed it on August 27th 1928.

LAD #31 14 Points
Wilson's 14 Points
This list of points is mostly concerning free trade, ethical ways of treating the defeated countries, and the last and most important point of the League of Nations. Wilson probably foresaw the problems that could arise again due to the allied system and the poor state that Europe was in. He also could have seen the resentment that Germany would feel due to the harsh reparations that England and France wanted to put on them. Wilson was being logical and fair he wanted everyone to have better and more prosperous lives as a result of the end of the war.

LAD #30 Schenk v. US
Mr. DeCarlo I wasn't able to find the case with the link that was online, so I looked it up on google instead.
Charles Schenk was a socialist who was tried in the Supreme Court because he handed out flyers trying to convince men not to go to war if they were drafted. He pleaded that he had the right of the 1st Amendment, Freedom of Speech. Schenk had violated the Espionage Act, an act that tried to prevent support from U.S. enemies during wartime. Although the court said that Schenk would have been following the law by passing out those flyers if it hadn't been wartime, since it was wartime it was an act of "national insubordination".

LAD #24 Dawes Sevarly Act
Passed in 1887 the Dawes Severalty Act was just another way for the government to control the Native Americans. The act was written by a Massachusetts senator, Senator Henry Dawes. It stated that the President was able to break up reservations and reallocate the land to individual Native Americans. This was an attempt to assimilate Native Americans into western culture. In addition the act allowed for any "left-over" land to be sold by the United States government. The land that was given to the Native Americans was very poor and was in no condition for farming. The United States government was using this Act to exceed power over the Native Americans.
