One of the most famous quotes from the 20th century is "there is nothing to fear but fear itself" which was from President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. It is from his first inaugural speech to the people of the United States. At the time the country was in distress, unemployment was at an all time high. In his speech he made many references to the bible, but his main intent was to ask people to stop being obsessed with money. He said that he would create jobs for the people of the United States, this was true he did in fact create jobs for Americans. He gave Americans a new sense of hope which was what the country needed and he did it through his New Deal.
